Request a lifelong learning credit

Do you want to take a study programme, but are you no longer eligible for regular student finance? If so, you may be eligible for a loan. You can use this to pay your tuition. This is called the ‘lifelong learning credit’ (levenlanglerenkrediet).

Conditions for the lifelong learning credit

You must meet certain conditions for a lifelong learning loan. For example:

  • You’re taking a full-time or part-time programme at a college or university, for instance. Or a full-time BOL programme in secondary vocational education (MBO).
  • You’re younger than 57.

The website of the education executive agency (DUO) gives the conditions for this.
